DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE

This course has been designed for people who aren’t able to go to school or to language classes where there are teachers and other students but who nonetheless have a serious intention to do a language course from home using their computer and with the assistance of a personal tutor.

Your tutor will be there to guide you throughout the course and ensure that you get results.

The materials have been chosen with a view to the linguistic needs of a person during their daily life and encourage the use of language as an active instrument in a specific context.

For this reason the teaching units will progress in a practical manner, for example:


Unit 1: saying hello, introducing yourself.

Unit 4: talking about routines.

Unit 6: making an invitation, fixing an appointment …

ORGANISATION OF THE COURSE

After a free entrance test, the tutor will assess your level according to European Framework parameters.

The tutor will agree with you a work schedule based on a certain amount of teaching units and will ask you to make the subscription and pay the right amount based on the selected quantity of units.
The cost of each teaching unit is 40.00 Euro, this includes the assistance of an online tutor, the access to the grammar, the cultural card, the glossary, the forum and the chat.
To get the access to the units (user name and password)  you need to register using the proper form and pay the right amount.

You can choose from:
e-le@rning course of 10 units' - beginners- elementary level – intermediate level
e-le@rning course of different units and material produced directly by the tutor – advanced level
The tutor will agree to a timetable with you (usually two days a week) during which you’ll be sent ACCESS to the teaching units and the related activities.
Example: On Monday you’ll be given access to Unit 1; the teacher will suggest the activities to be done by the Friday of the same week and will personalise your learning, advising you on how to continue and complete the unit or where required by sending you - via e-mail – extra material to help you with the tougher points.
We’d like to remind you that to do an e-le@rning course you need a fair amount of self-discipline and need to be willing to do the tasks assigned by the tutor.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Centro Koinè’s e-le@rning course is divided into teaching units in which you can develop your vocabulary and knowledge of grammar through various activities as well as laying down the framework for the skills you need to be able to speak Italian.

In each teaching unit you’ll find headings which you can use while you’re learning throughout the course:

GRAMMAR: grammar explanations;

ITALIAN CULTURE: a text on an Italian social or cultural topic;

GLOSSARY: key words for that teaching unit with a space alongside where you can write your own comments after printing;

FORUM: the teacher will propose a topic to talk about with you and other students. In the forum you’ll be able to see how you’re getting on compared to other students doing the same unit as you and tell them about your progress and your difficulties.

CHAT: here, with the other Koinè students, you’ll have the chance to make new friends, talk about your experiences and your interest in the Italian culture and language in………. ITALIAN
